Shifting Gears: Day Ten Another cool day ahead. But not bad for cycling. Blue sky would have been nice, and the end of the day was a wet one. Three patches to cover two punctures. To be sure. The patches seem animated in a grimace. They don’t like sharing space clearly. Huge numbers go with this huge power station. I cant remember the exact numbers but they were big! A pretty summer bank of wild poppies and cornflowers. Crossing paths with the railways. Time for peace and quiet reflection. It was 6:38 and the ferry was closed for the night. I had misread the map as a road and now had over 20 miles of detour. I am pretty sure that this is not the Rhine Route. Or this! But it led me to a road. So Google had redeemed itself that day. The blue dot was the place from where I took a picture of the ferry. The detour makes it clear how far I had to go to my accomodation. Dip of ketones after the mornings insulin, with a rise to a mid nutritional ketotic level for the rest of the day. Mixed grill and salad, plus a glass of red wine. Once warmed up, I felt a lot better.
